Dianne

CEO

Dianne boasts a career in fitness spanning over 30 years and two continents.

Dianne’s passion is fitness and exercise. Over the years she has gained unmatchable experience across a wide variety of disciplines in the fitness industry. From group exercise classes to teaching students academically, from personal training to delivering physical activity to special populations, from climbing mountains to teaching babies to swim –  Dianne has vast experience.

She began her career in Malaysia, where she was quickly promoted to the position ‘Manageress of Slimming World – International’, before accepting a post on the Malaysian Sports Board as the fitness co-ordinator.

During her time on the MS Board she worked actively within the community developing a number of programmes with the aim to tackle obesity, as well as promote and encourage fitness activities within her constituency. Among these programmes was community low intensity walking programmes based on weight loss, and intensive training programmes for the South-East Asian Aerobic championships (in which she participated with her team).

Dianne was also an active fundraiser for local charities, and organised a number of events including training with, and leading, a team to climb Mount Kinabalu (the highest mountain in South-East Asia – a feat she undertook on a number of occasions. In one notable instance, when she was pregnant with her daughter Nadine!).  She also trained and captained a team of 22 rowers to the semi-finals and finals of the World Dragon Boat Championships in Singapore.

In 1992 Dianne and her young family moved back to Scotland, where she gained a formal degree in Sport and Exercise Science, which lead to her current role as Senior Lecturer in Sports & Fitness at Glasgow Clyde College.

When she is not working with students at the College, Dianne continues to follow her passion and teaches a number of group exercise classes, as well as working one-to-one with clients as a Personal Trainer.

She continues to raise money for a number of charities, competing in Pedal for Scotland (cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh) annually for the last 9 years; the Moonwalk for breast cancer research, The Kilt Walk for Yorkhill Hospital, a couple of 10ks and a marathon, as well as being part of the team which lead and broke the Guinness World Record in 2013 for the most number of people Powerhooping® at one time.

Dianne has been able to tap into years of knowledge, skill and experience gained through hands on, real life experience in the industry, as well as utilise the academic and scientific understanding of the human body in order to collaborate in the design of this unique and effective training system
